The Library After Dark

Fairy Tale

The Green Fairy Book

by Andrew Lang

The Green Fairy Book came out in 1892, and in its preface Lang said it would probably be the last, since the supply of old tales could not go on for ever. Nine more colours followed, ending with The Lilac Fairy Book in 1910. Lang never claimed to have written the stories, only to have found them.
