Fairy Tale

The Red Fairy Book

by Andrew Lang

Andrew Lang, a Scottish scholar who wrote on Homer, myth and the folklore of every country, edited The Blue Fairy Book in 1889, and this, the second, followed in 1890. Most of the translating and retelling was done by his wife, Leonora Blanche Alleyne, and a band of helpers whose names he printed in his prefaces. H. J. Ford’s drawings are in every one of the twelve coloured books.
