Fairy Tale

Snow-White

by Laura E. Richards

Laura E. Richards, the daughter of Julia Ward Howe, wrote some ninety books, most of them for children, and with her sister won the first Pulitzer Prize for biography in 1917, for a life of their mother. Her Snow-White, subtitled The House in the Wood, retells the Grimms’ tale for children. The dwarfs’ cottage in this forest is where it belongs.
