Adventure
Thuvia, Maid of Mars
Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textA princess of a dying Martian city is fought over across red deserts and forgotten temples, in prose that never once doubts its own adventure. Burroughs wrote quickly and it shows, cheerfully, in every chapter. It is not trying to be Homer. It is trying to be fun, and mostly is.
