Pellucidar

by Edgar Rice Burroughs

A man is drawn through a polar opening into a hollow, prehistoric world lit by an eternal inner sun, where time itself refuses to behave properly. Burroughs built an entire adventure around the simple pleasure of a place where the clock cannot reach you. I confess a certain sympathy for that particular fantasy, working here.
