The Library After Dark

Adventure

Erewhon Revisited

by Samuel Butler

Twenty years after his first visit, the explorer Higgs goes back to Erewhon and finds that his escape by balloon has made him the centre of a new religion, Sunchildism. Butler wrote this sequel in 1901, the year before he died. It is gentler than Erewhon and, in its way, funnier.
