Adventure
Kidnapped
Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textA young heir is kidnapped by his own uncle to be sold into servitude, and escapes into a genuinely dangerous alliance with a man on the wrong side of a rebellion. Stevenson wrote friendship here as something that survives despite serious, permanent political disagreement. That is rarer in fiction than the shipwreck that starts it.
