Legend

Visions and Beliefs in the West of Ireland, First Series

by Lady Gregory

Lady Gregory spent years listening to her neighbours around Coole and Kiltartan talk about the other world: the Sidhe, changelings, seers and the dead who come back. She gathered their words and published them in 1920, with essays and notes by Yeats. It is the nearest thing in the library to hearing them speak.
