The Autobiography of Charles Darwin

by Charles Darwin

Darwin wrote these recollections for his children and grandchildren, beginning in 1876, and did not mean them to be published. They are modest, funny and unexpectedly sad: he confesses that in later life he lost his taste for poetry, pictures and music. His son Francis printed them after his death, with the passages the family thought too frank left out.
