Journey

Green Mansions

by W. H. Hudson

A traveller in the Venezuelan forest hears a voice like birdsong and finds Rima, a girl who seems to belong to the forest more than to people. Hudson was a naturalist first, and the jungle here is described by someone who had spent his life watching it closely.
