Nana

by Émile Zola

Nana, an actress with no talent and enormous success, ruins the rich men of the Second Empire one after another. Zola published it in 1880. In 1889 his English publisher, Henry Vizetelly, went to prison at sixty-nine for publishing Zola in English.
