Platonis Apologia Socratis
Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textSocrates’ defence at his trial, as Plato remembered it. He tells the jury he is a gadfly sent to sting Athens awake, and that the unexamined life is not worth living. For centuries Europe read Plato in Latin before it read him in Greek.
