Sir Francis Drake’s Famous Voyage Round the World

by Francis Pretty

Francis Pretty, one of Drake’s gentlemen at arms, wrote this account of the voyage of 1577 to 1580. It follows the ship through the Strait of Magellan, raids on Spanish treasure ships and a summer on the coast of California. Hakluyt printed Pretty’s account in his Principal Navigations.
