The Library After Dark

Fantasy

Lilith

by George MacDonald

Mr Vane finds a stranger in his own library, an old man who turns out to be the librarian of the house, long dead, and who sometimes takes the shape of a raven. He follows him through a mirror into a country of strange woods and stranger sleepers. George MacDonald published it in 1895, nearly forty years after Phantastes, and it is the darker book.
