The Garden Party, and Other Stories
Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textMansfield’s stories of New Zealand and London, most of them brief enough to read before a candle burns down. In the title story a girl arranges lilies for a party on the day a neighbour dies. Mansfield rarely tells you how to feel; she shows you the moment when a character almost knows.
