Joe Wilson and His Mates

by Henry Lawson

Joe Wilson tells of his courtship and marriage, and of trying to make a living on a selection in the bush, in four linked stories that are among the best things Lawson wrote. “Water Them Geraniums” is the saddest of them and perhaps the truest. The book was published in 1901, while Lawson was living in London.
