The Library After Dark

Modern

Dubliners

by James Joyce

Fifteen stories of ordinary Dublin lives, beginning in childhood and ending with “The Dead”, one of the finest stories in English. Joyce said he wrote them in “a style of scrupulous meanness”. The last pages, with snow falling all over Ireland, deserve to be read slowly.
