Concerning the Bi-literal Cypher of Francis Bacon

by Elizabeth Wells Gallup

Mrs Gallup believed that Francis Bacon had hidden secret histories in the typefaces of Shakespeare’s First Folio, and that she could read them. At Riverbank Laboratories, outside Chicago, the young William and Elizabeth Friedman were set to help her, and came away doubting her and in love with codebreaking, and with each other. William Friedman later spent decades on the Voynich Manuscript.
