The Library After Dark

Legend

Stories from The Arabian Nights

by Laurence Housman

Laurence Housman retold these stories in 1907, for the first of the great gift books Edmund Dulac illustrated for Hodder and Stoughton. Housman was an artist and a writer himself, the younger brother of the poet A. E. Housman, and a campaigner for women’s votes. It was Dulac’s pictures that made the book’s name, and his own.
