Australian Legendary Tales

by K. Langloh Parker

Katie Langloh Parker lived on a station on the Narran River in New South Wales and wrote down these stories as the Aboriginal people there, the Yuwaalaraay, told them to her. They tell how the birds and animals came by their shapes and their calls, and the stars their places. She wrote them in the English of 1896, and the stories belong to their tellers.
