Notes on Nursing

by Florence Nightingale

Florence Nightingale wrote these notes in 1859, after the Crimea, not for trained nurses but for every woman who would one day look after someone ill at home, which she reckoned was nearly every woman. They are about fresh air, light, warmth, quiet, clean linen and food. She is especially hard on visitors who whisper at the bedside.
