Mystery

The Secret Adversary

by Agatha Christie

A young woman with no fortune and considerable nerve talks her way into international intrigue mostly by refusing to admit she is out of her depth. It was Christie’s first attempt at something other than a strict puzzle-box mystery, and you can feel her testing what else the form could hold. She would return to this pair of characters more than once.
