The Evolution of Modern Medicine

by William Osler

William Osler, the most admired physician of his day, gave these lectures at Yale in 1913: a history of medicine from the Egyptians and Hippocrates to Vesalius, Harvey and the laboratory. He collected old medical books all his life, and it shows. They were printed in 1921, two years after his death.
