Legend

Moorish Literature

by René Basset

Ballads, tales of the Berbers and stories of the Kabyles of Algeria, gathered by the French scholar René Basset and published in English in 1901. There are romances of Moorish Spain as well as folk tales from the mountains of North Africa. It is an old anthology, and a good way to meet stories rarely translated into English.
