The Importance of Being Earnest
Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textTwo young men invent imaginary people to escape their duties, and both fall for women determined to marry someone called Ernest. Wilde called it “a trivial comedy for serious people”. It may be the most quotable play in English, and it reads in about an hour and a half.
