Songs and Lyrics of Robert Burns

by Robert Burns

In the last years of his life Burns wrote, mended or collected some three hundred songs for two Edinburgh collections, James Johnson’s Scots Musical Museum and George Thomson’s Select Scottish Airs, and he would take almost nothing for them. Many began as fragments of older songs he heard sung. Auld Lang Syne, A Red, Red Rose and Ae Fond Kiss are all here.
