Poems and Songs of Robert Burns

by Robert Burns

Burns’s first book, Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect, was printed at Kilmarnock in 1786 in an edition of 612 copies, and sold out within a month. He was twenty-seven, farming at Mossgiel and planning to emigrate to Jamaica, and its success took him to Edinburgh instead. This collection gathers the poems and the songs, from To a Mouse to A Red, Red Rose.
