The Wild Swans at Coole

by W. B. Yeats

Yeats’s poems of 1917 to 1919, named for the swans on the lake at Coole Park, Lady Gregory’s house in Galway. Here are “An Irish Airman Foresees His Death” and the elegy for her son, Robert Gregory. He counts nine-and-fifty swans, nineteen autumns after he first counted them.
