The Culprit Fay, and Other Poems

by Joseph Rodman Drake

A long comic poem about a fairy knight sentenced to an absurd penance for falling in love with a mortal star. It was, briefly, considered one of the great achievements of early American poetry, before literary fashion moved on entirely without it. I keep it here as a small monument to how quickly reputations can change shelves.
