The Magic Pudding

by Norman Lindsay

Bunyip Bluegum, a koala of excellent manners, takes to the road and falls in with a sailor, a penguin and Albert, a bad-tempered pudding who can be eaten for ever and always grows back. A possum and a wombat, professional pudding thieves, spend the book trying to steal him. Norman Lindsay wrote and drew it in 1918, the story goes, to settle an argument about whether children would rather read about fairies or food.
