Philosophy

Utopia

by Thomas More

A traveller describes an island where property is shared, gold is used for chamber pots, and everyone works six hours a day. More wrote it in Latin in 1516, and gave us the word, which means “no place”. Whether he meant any of it seriously has been argued about ever since.
