Peter Pan

by J. M. Barrie

A boy refuses, on principle, to grow up, and takes a nursery’s worth of children with him to a place built entirely around that refusal. Every adult in it is eventually revealed as a child in disguise, one way or another. Barrie understood that the fear of growing old is really the fear of being forgotten, which is not quite the same thing.
