Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textA secret society of educated Black Americans plots, in considerable and startling detail, an armed uprising against the government that has betrayed its promises to them. Griggs wrote it as a direct challenge to the more accommodating politics fashionable at the time, and it was considered dangerous enough that it struggled to stay in print. I keep it here specifically because someone, somewhere, tried hard to make sure you never got the chance to read it.
