The Night Land

by William Hope Hodgson

In a far future when the sun has gone dark, the last human refuge is a single fortified redoubt, besieged by things from beyond its walls that are never quite fully seen. Hodgson wrote something closer to cosmic myth than conventional adventure, decades before that became its own recognised genre. It is strange, slow, and unlike almost anything else on this shelf.
