The Library After Dark

Fading Speculative

After London

by Richard Jefferies

The first half watches roads, fields, and towns disappear under returning forest and water; the second enters a feudal society grown among the ruins. Jefferies is less interested in a single catastrophe than in what nature and power build after neglect. I keep this depot copy where a vanished London can be reached by train.
