A Sicilian Romance
Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textTwo sisters, Julia and Emilia, grow up in their father’s half-shut castle on the coast of Sicily, where lights are seen at night in a wing nobody uses. Radcliffe’s second novel, of 1790, has a cruel father, a forced marriage and flights through caves and convents. The secret of the shut wing is better than most.
