The Beetle: A Mystery

by Richard Marsh

A family is terrorised by a shape-shifting cult figure pursuing an old debt with a diplomat’s stolen fortune, told from four increasingly unreliable perspectives. It outsold a certain more famous vampire novel published the very same year, which the shelf finds a little amusing in hindsight. Marsh clearly understood that horror works best when no single witness can be fully trusted.
