The Geography of Strabo

by Strabo

Strabo, a Greek from Amaseia in Pontus, wrote his seventeen books of geography under Augustus and Tiberius, describing the whole world the Romans knew, region by region. He argues with earlier geographers on nearly every page, which is half the pleasure. This is the first of three volumes in the translation by H. C. Hamilton and W. Falconer.
