The Library After Dark

Almost Unread

The Spectre in the Cart

by Thomas Nelson Page

A haunted vehicle appears on a lonely Southern road, driven by something the local community would very much prefer not to discuss directly. Page mostly wrote plantation nostalgia rather than horror, which makes this odd little detour something of a curiosity even among his own work. I keep it here mainly for that reason.
