The Book-Hunter

by John Hill Burton

A history of the great obsessive collectors who built the libraries this book itself is proud to belong among. Burton clearly relished the eccentricity of his subjects nearly as much as their achievements. Every profession enjoys a little mythology about its own founders; this is ours.
