The Works of Edgar Allan Poe — Volume 1
Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textThe first volume of a man who turned financial desperation into some of the most precise short fiction and criticism America ever produced. Poe believed brevity was a virtue and economy of effect nearly a moral obligation. Read a single story at a sitting; he did not build these to be rushed.
