The Art of War

by Sun Tzu

A concise military treatise arguing that the very best victories are the ones achieved without a battle ever needing to be fought at all. Sun Tzu wrote for generals and it has since been read by nearly everyone with any ambition to win anything. I find its actual message considerably more patient than the confrontational way it usually gets quoted.
