Among My Books

by James Russell Lowell

Essays of 1870 on Dryden, witchcraft, Shakespeare, Lessing and Rousseau, by a poet who was also a Harvard professor and later an American minister in London. Lowell read widely and quoted freely. The title promises more browsing than it delivers, which is no bad thing.
