The Bustan of Sadi

by Sadi

Sa’di of Shiraz finished the Bustan, the Orchard, in 1257, a book of verse tales of justice, generosity, love and humility, and the Gulistan, the Rose Garden, the year after. For centuries Persian children learned to read from them. This translation of 1911 is from the Wisdom of the East series.
