The Library After Dark

Almost Unread

Some Haunted Houses of England & Wales

by Elliott O’Donnell

A survey of reportedly haunted houses across England and Wales, collected with the straight-faced seriousness of a man who plainly believed every word of it. O’Donnell was a committed ghost-hunter rather than a novelist, and it shows in the earnest, unliterary style. I cannot vouch for a single account in it, and I would not want to.
