Concord Days

by Amos Bronson Alcott

Bronson Alcott’s notebook of 1872, a Concord year with his memories of Emerson, Thoreau and Hawthorne. Alcott was the teacher whose Boston school failed, whose community at Fruitlands failed, and whose daughter Louisa paid the family’s bills with Little Women. In 1845 he was one of the friends who helped Thoreau raise the frame of his house at Walden.
