The Library After Dark

Almost Unread

The Day of Wrath

by Mór Jókai

A Hungarian nobleman is swept up in an uprising that costs him everything he assumed was permanent, in a historical melodrama typical of its prolific author’s enormous output. Jókai was tremendously popular in his own country and time, and largely unknown outside it since. This is one of the few of his books that made the crossing into English at all.
