The Velveteen Rabbit
Read it in the Library After Dark Or read it as plain textA rabbit sewn from velveteen asks the old Skin Horse in the nursery what it means to be Real, and finds out the long way, by being loved threadbare by a small boy. Short enough to read aloud at bedtime; it is usually the one reading who needs the handkerchief.
